Is there a return and refund policy for electronics purchased from Chinese websites?
Asked 2 years ago
I bought a tablet from one Chinese online store about 3 months ago. It worked fine for some time, but recently, it started shutting down for no reason. I had an expert look at it, and he said it was a manufacturing error, nothing I could have done.
I would like to return it, but I don't know if that's even possible. Also, I don't expect to get a full refund, but could I get a partial one at least?

The answer greatly depends on which website you bought the product through. Although most online stores have some sort of a return policy, the less trustworthy ones may not. Furthermore, some return policies are next to useless.
The best thing to do is to head to the company's website and read through the return policy. Take note of the shipping costs as you are often required to pay for the return shipping. Depending on the product, this could be more expensive than simply purchasing a new one.
You should also keep in mind that most return policies are only valued for up to 30 days, so you may have left it for too long.
