Should I book through Hotels.com or directly through the hotel's website?
Asked 2 years ago
I'm mostly interested in personal experiences, as I tend to be very skeptical about reviews that are on official websites. Do you prefer booking via Hotels.com, or do you usually find the hotel you like, go to the website of your preferred hotel, and book through them directly?
I've done both in the past, so I don't really see the difference...is there any?

While it does vary depending on location and hotel, it's often cheaper to book through third-party websites like Hotels.com but safer to book directly with the hotel since hotel booking websites often overbook or miscommunicate. The reviews on Hotels.com should be more trustworthy than the hotel's website though.
