What are the best modes of transportation for traveling within France?
Asked 2 years ago
When I visit France, I want to go to different destinations around the country to make my trip more worthwhile. But then I'll need to plan for the best way to get around in France, so I need some help. What is the best way to travel between cities in France?

France has a wide variety of public and private transport to choose from, and it really comes down to what you are looking for, where you are going, how fast you want to get there, and the level of comfort you are willing to endure.
- Domestic flights: Perfect for traveling long distances in a short amount of time, but they are pricey
- Metro and tram: There's an extensive tram route that runs its network through major cities in France. It's cost-effective and stops at multiple convenient locations. This is also a great way to see the city.
- Train: Train rides are slow and a little pricey, but you'll be rewarded with some of the best views that Europe has to offer
- Bicycle: When adventuring around cities or towns, renting a bicycle is budget-friendly, will ensure you get some exercise in, as well as show you a slower side of French life
