What is the best time of year to travel to Europe?

Hey everybody, I want to book a trip to Europe but I'm not sure what's the best month to choose. I'd like to pick the best month to visit Europe to avoid large crowds, but I also want to have nice weather on my trip. So, which month is best for a trip to Europe?

The best month for you would be one of the "shoulder" months (April through June and September through October) that border the peak season. They have the advantages of decent weather, good daylight hours, no large crowds, and a local tourist industry that's still open and ready to serve tourists.
